Wholesale Masking Tape

Masking tape is one of the popular and versatile types of tape in existence today. The pressure sensitive tape has the characteristic of being very easy to remove from surfaces to which it was applied. This makes it the perfect tape for painting walls, cars and furniture. Another less known application for masking tape is color coding. Using colored masking tape can be a great way to identify defective parts in an industrial setting.

When looking for masking tape, you will want to know the strength of adhesiveness that you require for your task. The strength, or how sticky it is varies on a scale from 1 to 100, the higher being stronger.

If you use a tape that is too strong then you risk removing paint when you remove the tape. Contrastingly, if you choose an adhesive strength that is too little, then the tape might not stick and hold properly on the desired surface.

If in doubt, it’s always best to ask a tape expert for their advice on the type of masking tape strenght that you need. It will save you a lot of time, money and hassle.

Here’s a list of the most common tape as supplied by Nat-Tape:

General Purpose
A good quality utility grade masking tape, cream color crepe paper with a natural rubber adhesive.
Conforms to a broad selection of surfaces. Good adhesion to glass, wood and metal.
For light bundling, sealing, holding, and air-dry commercial painting (tape removed once paint has dried).

Mid-Grade Automotive Crepe
Mid-grade masking tape with a natural rubber based adhesive system designed to work in masking applications where moderate temperature (up to 200°F) and solvent resistance are required. Tape conforms to a broad range of surfaces. Good elongation for wrapping and masking around curved surfaces. It is recommended for general purpose painting and masking applications and for bundling, sealing, label marking, tabbing, and other medium demand applications.

Colored Masking Tape
Crepe paper backing, synthetic rubber resin adhesive system. The adhesive is formulated for easy release and good adhesion to a variety of substrates. Designed for color coding for identification or differentiation. Conformable to many irregular surfaces. Suitable for bundling, marking of defective parts or
materials, produce marking, color coding, and polybag sealing. Not recommended for use above 130°F.

Colored Flatback Tape
Bright colorful flatback papers coated with a high performance solvent based synthetic rubber adhesive system. The flat surface of the tape (vs. creped paper) results in high quality printing and the easy unwind characteristic allows for high speed printing. Tape exhibits outstanding face to face bond strength.

“Pinhole free” Black Masking Tape aka Black crepe paper photographic masking tape.
Its matte finish minimizes light reflectance and is ideal for private photographers, commercial photo processing labs, movie sets and photo studios. Acid free rubber adhesive exhibits high holding power, yet removes cleanly from most surfaces. Used to block out defects, unwanted images on negatives and cropping materials; reducing glare & hiding items the photographer does not want to show
